The Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation has been granted tax-exemption status, following a request made in terms of the Article 12(2) of the Income Tax Act (Chapter 123) of the Laws of Malta. The exemption applies with retrospective effect.
Previously, despite its non-profit status, the Foundation was liable to income tax at corporate rates. Now that the Foundation has been designated as tax-exempt, 100% of its revenue and donations will be directed towards fulfilling its aims.
The Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation is registered in Malta as a legal entity with registration number LPF-280 and as a non-profit organisation with enrolment number VO/1633. The Foundation’s accounts are independently audited and filed annually with the Commission for Voluntary Organisations.
