Here is everyone who was involved in the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation's work.

Matthew Caruana Galizia

Director of the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation

Matthew is an investigative journalist and software engineer. He worked at the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists before co-founding the Daphne Caruana Galizia Foundation in 2018.


Tina Urso

Chief Operating Officer

Tina joined the Foundation in March 2020. Before that, she campaigned for justice for Daphne Caruana Galizia in Malta and internationally.


Corinne Vella

Head of Media Relations

Corinne is the sister of Daphne Caruana Galiza. She leads the Foundation's media relations and edits Taste & Flair, the monthly magazine which Daphne founded in 2014 and which the Foundation has continued to publish. Corinne previously spent many years working in media and communications.


Azzurra Moores

Research & Advocacy Officer

Azzurra joined the Foundation in August 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Warwick and the University of Leeds, where she specialised her Master's research into the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia and the impact this had on a declining state of freedom of expression in Europe. Azzurra has a particular interest in media freedom and the responsibility of the state in protecting journalists.


Dalia Nasreddin

Legal Officer

Dalia joined the Foundation in August 2020. She is a graduate of law from Queen Mary University of London and The University of Edinburgh, where she received an LLM in European Law. Dalia has a keen interest in anti-corruption, and the practical applications of EU mechanisms to fight corruption.


Sabriyah Saeed

Research & Advocacy Officer

Sabriyah joined the Foundation in August 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Oxford, where she studied English Literature. Sabriyah has a keen interest in international law and policy, particularly in matters regarding media freedom in Pakistan and the Kashmiri territories.


Tina Misfud

Junior Legal Trainee

Tina joined the Foundation in August 2020. She is currently in her fourth year of legal studies at the University of Malta. Tina has a keen interest in litigation, particularly that of public interest.


Vjosa Isai

Researcher and Writer

Vjosa Isai is a journalist based in Canada. She has volunteered with the Foundation since April 2020, and has worked as a freelance researcher throughout the Passport Papers investigation.


Safa AlAhmad

Safa is a Saudi freelance journalist and filmmaker.


Joanna Demarco


Joanna is a freelance journalist and photographer in Malta. Her photos of passport applicants' residences are featured in this investigation.


Ed Dingli

Nigel Anastasi


Nigel is a visual designer at 2point3. He designed the Passport Papers website.
